Happy Guests
The weather has been wonderful and the lake very quiet.  I lot of wild life around, berries still plentyful and happy guests.  We are truelly blessed!
:::

Fishing
Most would think July fishing to be slow, we did pretty good the last few days.  Several walleye, a few crappiies, lots of perch and plenty of pike.
:::

Raspberries
I have been a raspberry pickin maniac lately!  They are thick up here and I'm getting some pretty big ones, there are so many you can be choosy.  I know all the good spots to go to so come on up while the pickens good.  They are in the prime now, yesterday I picked 4 pounds and my dogs got tummy aches helpingFrown
:::

4 wheeling in the Chippewa
Two days in a row I have gone for a long ride, getting ready for bear season and speaking of bears I saw a nice big one on the second trip out.  I visited Lost, Lower, Farley, Wilderness and Big Winnie Lakes on my ride.  It was so beautiful out there and so secluded, in 40 miles we only saw one other person.
:::

Twin Loons
Yes it's official we actually have baby loons on the north end of Dixon.  It's been a long time since we have had baby loons up here.  I took the kayak out and got some shots with out getting to close, so my pictures aren't great but I clearly sawtwin loons 4 loons.

Innkeeper of the classy round B&B

Hi I am your innkeeper Kathryn
 We were living on the south end of the lake where we owned and ran a year round resort, bar and restaurant.  We moved to the north end of the lake and built the B&B in 2007.  It took us 15 months of long days building our exciting round home.  I admit my creativity got a little carried away which you can see all around our inn.  My husband is a carpenter so most of the furniture and all of the cabinetry was designed and made here in our work shop.  Most of the wood is local or taken right off the property and prepared in our shop.  I am an artist so thru-out the home you can see our many creations which include hand painted artistry, stained glass, mosaics, homemade rugs, family heirlooms, antiques, imported treasures and so much more.  Most our guests say either we should be in one of those amazing home magazines or you have to see it to believe it. As artists we appreciate these compliments.
    I am a cancer survivor, beating Leukemia with a bone marrow transplant.   I enjoy gardening, swimming, xc skiing and biking, in the fall you can find me in the woods hunting (come & see my 2 full mounted bears).  In the winter I  do all the grooming of the My Lake Home XC ski trails.  We like to do some  snowmobiling and spear fishing also.  My background has always been in food service coming from family owned 1st Class Catering and Golden Yolk Egg Company.   I have managed or owned several restaurants and bars.   I really enjoy sharing my home with the many guests that visit us all year round from all over.  So many new friends and different people who all enjoy our treasure here in the north woods of Minnesota.  We are truelly blessed.
