Memorial Weekend
We all had a nice relaxing weekend by the lake!  Enjoying our visitors from the metro area and from Brainerd.  The garden tours and campfire time was the best.  Not too much fishing but we had a nice pontoon outing on Sunday night.

Walleyes are hot on Dixon
This week the walleye fishing has been hot hot hot!  We got in on the action and had a great time.  We found that orange and silver spinners with leeches or minnows worked well.

Biking in the woods
Well the Bikes are all fixed up and ready for summer adventure rides.  Actually I've been riding since the snow was gone.  I have a trail I ride that has a lot of ups and downs and riding over stumps logs and sticks.  It's serene and a very good work out, I work up a huge sweat and begin my day rejuvinated.

Indoor garden
My garden grows indoors for now until I can be sure summer is really here.  We are expecting some frost this weekend and I can't believe some people have planted already.  I have started tomatoes, peppers, rutabaga, cabbage, watermelon, squash, brussel sprout and whole bunch of different flowers.  My garden window and MN. cabana are full of plants that are coming along beautifully.

Look for me on Face book too!

Hi I am your innkeeper Kathryn, after owning a big resort for so many years, this just came next.   We worked very hard for 11 years at our resort with 10 cabins and then built 2 lake homes ourselves.  We also had 40 campsites, a restaurant, bar and 38 ice houses.  We were very happy to move on but very sad to see the new owners fail at keeping the customers we worked so hard to bring in.  Well it's all about customer service and that is why we have had so much success!
Designing the Inn and building all my creations right in was a lot of hard work but fun too.  We decided to open the B&B when my husband Lyle started his own construction business.   Though I am very handy with tools I did not want to join him in construction.  I like to stay busy and the hospitality business is what I love and fits right into my way of life and my love for promoting this remote area of MN.  I have spent my life here and with my catering and banquet back ground this just fits right INN.  My husband and I are avid sportsmen, cross country skiers and artists.  I am an acrylic artist in painting mostly Minnesota wildlife.  I enjoy creating stained glass and mosaic art and built all the stained glass windows for the house and you can see my artwork all around the INN. I dabble in wood burning, native art and rug making.  In the summer you will see me swimming across the lake or in the garden, in the fall I'm out in the woods hunting, in the winter I XC ski everyday.
( I groom all of our trails myself).
My goal is to spoil my guests with a wonderful lake side vacation get away!
